Every year, Thomson Reuters (owner of Westlaw and West Publishing) issues its hand-selected lists of outstanding lawyers in the legal community. The annual issues are entitled “Super Lawyers”, “Super Lawyers Rising Stars”, and “Women Super Lawyers”. The annual Super Lawyers lists are highly prestigious and selection to the lists results from a rigorous, multi-stage process in which nominations and evaluations are combined with independent research into the professional achievements and standing of the attorney in the legal community. If a nominated attorneys passes the Super Lawyers’ initial evaluation (which utilizes 12 different indicators to determine whether the nominee qualifies for further evaluation), then the attorney must still be approved by a panel of respected attorneys in the industry. It suffices to say that many are nominated, but few are chosen. However, in 2014, Super Lawyers selected Nicole Lari-Joni to its list of Women Super Lawyers for her exceptional work and achievements in the legal field.
