The Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) is the nation’s largest local association of plaintiff attorneys. As its mission, CAALA promotes and protects the rights of individuals and consumers in California and the nation. Every year, CAALA recognizes one attorney for its prestigious Trial Lawyer of the Year Award. Past notable recipients include Johnnie Cochran, Michael Piuze, Charlie O’Reilly, and William Camusi. CAALA presents the award to recognize an attorney, who achieves a significant result at trial on behalf of a client.

From a long list of nominees, CAALA identifies and selects five finalists for the award. In 2015, CAALA gave this honor to Torsten Bassell by selecting him as a finalist for the Trial Lawyer of the Year Award.
